Movin' on...
As soon as papers all get signed, it's official. We just bought a ranch! Nebraska, here we come! Now we have to sell our house, find a new job, and rip our children away from the only home they've ever known and their grandparents! That shouldn't be too hard! Anyway, lots to do! Thank you to all of you who haven't dumped me as a "friend" just because I'm a little busy right now. And those of you who did, yes, you know who you are, you can't come visit me on my new, cool ranch!
Every dog has a story...
So, my dog is a hero. He's the official blood donation bank for the vet clinic across the street, now. He got called upon to save the life of some sorry sap that got into some rat poison and needed a transfusion. So, noble canine that he is, he shared a pint with said sap and is now being hailed as a hero. Sources say that he was exceedingly brave during the process and though snubbing the offered canned food afterward, didn't fall faint along the way. He was greatly rewarded with raw eggs in his food upon his return. Obviously, winter has made life rather uneventful in our household and therefore any event at all calls for celebration.
Freaky Friday's Shopping
So, I thought, very naivly?, that I'd go shopping last Friday and take advantage of all those good deals advertised. Okay, I am just a little Kansas girl with no earthly idea what really happens that one day of the year. I don't know what was in the turkey that these people ate, but it turned them all into raging monsters. Some lady got so p.o'd at me in the parking lot(there was nowhere to park and I was driving a truck-UGLY) that she was waiting at the front of the store when I finally got parked and made my way in. I'm only 5'2", but I think I coulda' taken her. But in an attempt to avoid a lawsuit and some bloodshed, I ducked inside with a wave of people and my height was an advantage for the first time ever. Anyway, horrible story made short, I quickly took note of the checkout line that went from the front of the store to the back and then curved forward again, and then the general lack of good cheer and short supply of oxygen to support such a crowd and high-tailed it outta there and just went home. This was at 6:30am. NEVER NEVER NEVER again!!! Stupid! Why, I ask you, did someone not warn me?! So, I've had a glimpse of Hell and renewed my vows with the Lord to ensure that I never have to return. So, how was your weekend? Is it this way everywhere?
Big Decisions coming...
So, we're in the process of looking at a place in Nebraska to buy. I am excited, since I really wanted to go back, but it's pretty scary, too. Mostly because my whole family is up here now. The thought of moving out where we know NO ONE is a little daunting. And, while I am not so fond of Michigan, I have gotten a little attatched to our little farm. We're young and can still put our hearts into another place. I just hope we could sell this place to someone who will love it and appreciate the work we've put into it. This whole thing could fall through, but I know that it will happen sooner or later. Gets me preparing myself, anyway.
I just need a LITTLE more time!!!!!
Back from the land of the lost... How on earth do so many of you, being moms of young children, find the time to blog so regularly? I consider it a luxery to have time to floss! I can't seem to keep up and it makes me frustrated since I enjoy it so much. Here I am with my eyes propped open with toothpicks just to make an entry so no one forgets that I exist. Perhaps I care too much. Or just maybe I need some kind of bloggers fiber that promotes regularity! Oh, brother. On that sad joke I will say good-night!
